Technically Pluto isn’t even a year old since its discovery by us Earthlings. “Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930. “Seventy-year-old Chau Smith…decided to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.” She accomplished this In January 2017.
It’s a Bird!
That Twitter bird has a name! It’s Larry! Larry the Bird. Like as in Larry Bird, the Hall of Fame basketball player. The cofounder of Twitter is Biz Stone, and Larry Bird had played for his home team, the Boston Celtics. LINK
Why the hole?
“Turns out it’s not just us who love chewing on pen lids—a whole lot of people do it, and that can lead to lids getting accidentally swallowed and lodged in the windpipe, with potentially fatal consequences. By simply adding a larger hole to the top of the lid, pen company BIC increased air flow and the chance that people would still be able to breathe even if that happens—a design feature that, quite literally, saves lives.” LINK
Have a great week, and stay tuned for next Monday’s five!
