Cheers to another week! Here are your Monday Fun Facts to read and share!
Matthew Perry’s Middle Finger
“When he was just three-years-old, the Chandler Bing actor got the middle finger on his right hand stuck in a door while it was violently slammed. It can actually be noticed in numerous scenes on Friends – as closer observation shows it’s shorter than the two fingers either side.”
Ryan & Justin’s Youth
“The two first met back in 1993 when they were cast on The Mickey Mouse Club, the beloved, long-running variety show…”“Gosling and Timberlake appeared on the last two seasons of the show, where they and their families grew so close that the two stars stayed in the same house at one point. …[Timberlake’s] mom even became Gosling’s legal guardian during the last six months of filming after the Canadian actor’s mom had to go back to her job.”
Here is Justin talking to Ellen about his time with Ryan when they were young:
What’s up with Bowie’s eye?
Bowie suffered from anisocoria, meaning that one pupil was bigger than the other.
“This means it looks like one eye is a different [color than] the other. Bowie’s dilated pupil was the result of a traumatic event in his childhood—and it was all over a fight over a girl.”
In January 1962, David got into a scuffle with his friend, George Underwood. “The result was a hefty punch from Underwood, in which he caught Bowie’s eye with a fingernail. This nasty injury resulted in four months of hospital treatment, after which doctors came to the conclusion that young Davey wasn’t going to see completely clearly again, leaving [him] with poor depth perception.”
Cameron Diaz and Snoop Dogg
Cameron Diaz and Snoop Dogg both attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. They are one year apart.
Tom Cruise Divorced All Of His Wives When They Were 33.
“All three of Tom Cruise’s ill-fated marriages have come to an end when his wives were 33, which just happens to be a significant number for the actor’s Church of Scientology. The original membership organization for the controversial religious group, the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, was founded in Phoenix, Arizona, which lies on the 33rd parallel.”
Bonus #6: Orpah, not Oprah
“Her full name is Orpah Gayle Winfrey. That’s right, Orpah, not Oprah. Born in rural Mississippi in 1954, she was named after a biblical figure [Orpah] in the Book of Ruth. When no one knew how to spell or pronounce it properly, they started calling her Oprah instead.”
Have a great week, and stay tuned for next Monday’s five!
